Testimonials. 2011 - 2012 Greetings! My husband and I stayed at Bondcroft for a night back in August as we made our way through the U.K. and on our way through the Dales. I just wanted to thank you for such a wonderful stay--your home was so comfortable and inviting. Breakfast was simply amazing (the homemade jellies...wow!) and the hospitality and travel advice was much appreciated. Embsay was also such a nice treat--walking about the village gazing into the old Churchyard on the road between your place and the village and the local pub--all such a nice quiet experience. And, a highlight was getting to see your beautiful talented sheep dogs. Thank you for letting us watch them in action and answering all of our questions about the training. As dog people, that was simply one of the highlights of our trip. Take care and thanks again, Deb and Tom Helfrich Vermont, USA Hi Christine, A lovely stay at Bondcroft Farm. Large room with great views across the valley. Our room had two twin beds and has everything a visitor will need, including what seemed like a thousand towels. Breakfast was huge and who can resist that local bacon and sausage plus Christine's historic home made preserves. Ask her for the Gooseberry and elderflower jam and marmalade! In the evening we went down to the local pub, the Elm Tree Inn, and had fantastic fish pie and a couple of pints of the local brew. Next morning, we took the steam train to Bolton Abbey. Don't miss this if you stay at Bondcroft. A super stay at the farm and wished we could have stayed several days longer, had schedule permitted. Definitely highly recommended.
Thanks Christine,,,,,,it was really wonderful.
Phil, Florida, USA Dear Christine Just wanted to thank you and your family for such a lovely welcome when we stayed with you during the holidays. We all thoroughly enjoyed staying at your farm and making the most of the outdoor life, scenery and animals. We were also so lucky with the weather which will make our holiday most memorable and eager to return. Hope all the lambs are now safely born and that the piglets all arrived without mishap. Kind Regards Kim, Stuart and Georgina Fenton. Thankyou for having my mother and I to stay in your lovely farmhouse. We had a lovely time and the room was very comfortable (wonderful soft bed). Your breakfast was really lovely and plenty of it. I wish I could have bought a jar of your great marmalade. I will be booking to come back again. Skipton and surrounding places of interest were really good, I loved the market especially! Hope to see you again soon.
Val Pickering and Mrs Wilson Tyne & Wear Sorry it has taken me so long to email you - where have the last 10 days gone?!! It was really lovely seeing you and Bobby again and thank you so much for going out of your way to make us feel at home. It made it so relaxed and easy being able to pop a dish into the oven and not have to go out and we all can't thank you enough! Also being able to park the cars and trailers along the top and drive out of the gate was brilliant - especially with so many dogs!! I do hope you remembered to thank Bobby for us for oiling the gate so it was really easy to open! I am so sorry we left the sitting room in such a mess - with open packets of nibbles and empty bottles!!!!!!!! When one has to leave, there is so much to think about - it is easy to forget something!! ,Hope very much to see you later in the year and hope that you both keep well and have an excellent summer. Again thank you so much for helping us all have such a happy relaxed stay - we really enjoyed it and especially seeing you both again. "Thank you for a lovely stay, being looked after so well was a real treat. The extra touches in our room of water, chocolate bars (naughty but nice while on holiday), the offer to use the sitting room had we wanted a refuge were an additional bonus. The chance to watch the sheepdogs at work and the daily viewing of the delightful Sonny Jim and his mother even more memorable. We enjoyed the company of fellow guest and the chance to admire the dolls houses. We hope you like this card -you never know what your teddy bears get up to when you are not there." - Derek & Diana "Thank you again for making us feel so welcome and comfortable.
